This Privacy Policy explains how ServiceDial (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use ServiceDial (the “App”) and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.
1) What ServiceDial Does
ServiceDial is a ZIP-code-based directory that helps users find home service providers (e.g., HVAC, plumbers, electricians, locksmiths) and tap to call them. The App may show business hours and “open now” status when available.
2) Information We Collect
A) Information You Provide
- ZIP Code you enter to search.
- Reports/Feedback you submit (e.g., “wrong number”, “spam/scam”, “business closed”, “hours incorrect”), which may include optional notes you type.
- Support Messages if you contact us (name, email, message content you send).
B) Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data (e.g., screens viewed, taps, search actions, category selections).
- Device & App Data (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone, crash logs, diagnostic data).
- Identifiers (e.g., an advertising identifier or app instance identifier) where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
C) Information We Do Not Collect (by default)
- Precise location data (GPS). ServiceDial uses ZIP code input for search.
- Call audio/content. We do not listen to or record calls.
Note: If you later add features (e.g., “Near Me”, accounts, messaging), you must update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
3) Tap-to-Call & Call Tracking
When you tap the call button, the App may initiate a phone call using your device’s dialer. We may log the event that you tapped a call button (e.g., time, category, listing ID, ZIP code used) for analytics, fraud prevention, and billing for sponsored listings.
- We do not control the outcome of calls.
- We do not guarantee a provider will answer or provide service.
If we use call tracking numbers (e.g., to measure call volume or bill sponsors), we will:
- Use them only to connect your call to the intended provider, and
- Disclose this in-app where required.
4) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide core features (search by ZIP, show listings, enable tap-to-call).
- Improve quality and accuracy of listings (processing reports).
- Maintain security and prevent fraud/abuse (e.g., suspicious activity, spam).
- Analytics and performance (e.g., which categories are used most).
- Customer support and responding to requests.
- Advertising and monetisation (including sponsored listings/PPC where applicable).
5) How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with:
- Service Providers who help us operate the app (analytics, crash reporting, hosting, customer support tools).
- Advertising Partners (if you use in-app ads), to show ads and measure performance, subject to your device settings and applicable law.
- Sponsored Listing Partners (service providers who advertise), in aggregated form (e.g., number of call taps), unless you explicitly request a direct connection and disclosure is necessary to provide the service.
- Legal/Compliance when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business Transfers if we merge, acquire, or sell assets (with notice as required by law).
6) Sponsored Listings & Advertising
Some listings may be marked “Sponsored”. Sponsored placement may affect how results are shown. Sponsored partners may be billed based on interactions such as taps (PPC). We may measure interactions to support billing and fraud prevention.
7) Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for:
- Providing the Service,
- Improving listing accuracy,
- Legal, tax, accounting, and fraud prevention requirements.
Typical retention examples (you can adjust):
- Usage logs: up to [X months]
- Support messages: up to [X months/years]
- Report records: up to [X months/years] to maintain listing integrity
8) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9) Your Choices & Rights
A) App Settings & Device Controls
- You may limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier in your iOS settings (where applicable).
- You may uninstall the App to stop further data collection from the App.
B) California Privacy Rights (if applicable)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under state privacy laws (e.g., access, deletion, correction, opt-out of certain sharing). Submit requests via:
- Email: [PRIVACY EMAIL]
We may need to verify your request.
C) Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state, you may have similar rights. Contact us using the details below.
10) Children’s Privacy
ServiceDial is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us to request deletion.
11) Third-Party Links & Providers
Listings may include phone numbers, websites, or directions that connect to third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Please review their policies.
12) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date and may provide additional notice if required.
